SS Peter and Paul Lay Apostolate for Perpetual Adoration

“Could you spend an hour with me?”

Perpetual Adoration is made possible through the involvement of many generous people at SSPP.  There are multiple groups of individuals who volunteer their time in various ways.  The largest group, of course, is our Regular Adorers, people who give an hour each week to give glory to God by spending time in the presence of the Holy Eucharist.  Without our Regular Adorers this ministry of prayer would not be possible.  In addition to the Regular Adorers, we have four other groups who help organize and volunteer to “pinch hit” when a Regular Adorer can’t make their scheduled time.  These groups include:

Adoration Committee — The Committee tries to take care of and coordinate the overall activity and issues related to having perpetual adoration.  They oversee and ensure that we have adequate volunteers in the other groups below; and that the chapel is neat, clean, quite, safe, and provides a good environment or praising our God.

Shift Coordinators — There are four Shift Coordinators, each responsible for a six hour shift of each day.  The Shift Coordinators work with the Hourly Captains to find volunteers to adore at each hour in their shift.

Hourly Captains — There are 24 volunteers, one for every hour of the day.  These folks help ensure that every hour of the week is adequately covered with multiple adorers to ensure we can continue the perpetual adoration of our Lord.

Substitute Adorers — Volunteers who are willing to take an hour here or there to help fill in when a Regular Adorer can’t make their normal time.  They are listed by day and time that they are available for substituting.

Names and Contact Information for the above groups is available to any Regular Adorer by filling out the List Request Form.  You can receive it via email, fax or US post.

The above information represents the formal organization of Perpetual Adoration.  In addition, we are blessed to have many other individuals who contribute their time, talent and energy in various ways to ensure this ministry is alive and strong.  We thank all of our volunteers for their prayers and generosity.
